We Are Hiring! Freelance Dot Kids Art Club Assistant – Whitstable, Kent
Are you passionate about creativity, children’s wellbeing and the power of art to build confidence?
We are delighted to announce that Dot Kids is hiring a Freelance Art Club Assistant to support our multi-award-winning After School Art Clubs in primary schools across Whitstable, Kent.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a nurturing, creative organisation that believes every child deserves space to express themselves, feel confident and enjoy the joy of making art.
About Dot Kids
Dot Kids delivers inspiring, inclusive after-school art clubs and creative programmes for children. Our ethos is rooted in wellbeing, self-expression and confidence-building through creativity.
We champion process art rather than perfection, encourage individuality, and create safe, supportive spaces where children can explore ideas freely. Our work supports children’s emotional literacy, imagination and sense of self - and we are proud to collaborate with schools, charities and communities across Kent.
About the Freelance Art Club Assistant Role
As a Freelance Dot Kids Art Club Assistant, you’ll work alongside our experienced Art Leaders to support after-school art clubs for primary school-aged children.
Using our thoughtfully designed Dot Kids session plans, you will help children:
-
explore a wide range of creative materials, processes and techniques
-
discover and respond to artworks, artists and moments from art history in an accessible, child-friendly way
-
take part in open conversations about art - how it makes us feel, what the artist may have been experiencing, and what they might have wanted to communicate to others
-
use these discussions as a springboard for the pupils own creative ideas and artistic exploration
-
build confidence and self-expression through making, sharing and reflecting
-
develop a positive, pressure-free relationship with creativity
-
feel safe, supported and celebrated for who they are and how they create
You will also play an important role in helping with the safe dismissal of pupils to parents and carers at the end of each session.
