Dot Kids are proud to be attending the Family Anti-Racism Workshop led by Tiffany Jewell

We are proud to be attending the Family Anti-Racism Workshop led by Tiffany Jewell, a leading expert in anti-racist education and No.1 New York Times best-selling author of This Book Is Anti-Racist. The event is hosted by children’s publisher Quarto Kids.

Why This Matters to Dot Kids

At Dot Kids, we know that art is more than self-expression - it is a powerful tool for empathy, connection and social change. As educators working with children and families across  communities, it is our responsibility to keep learning, listening and growing.

Anti-racism is not a one-off conversation. It is an ongoing commitment.

Attending this workshop allows us to:

  • Deepen our understanding of identity and social justice

  • Strengthen the way we hold inclusive, safe creative spaces

  • Equip ourselves with age-appropriate language to discuss fairness and belonging

  • Model lifelong learning for the children and families we work with

If we are asking children to be brave, kind and thoughtful global citizens, we must be willing to do the work ourselves.

About the Workshop

In this 60-minute session for families (ages 8+ and adults), Tiffany Jewell will guide participants through important questions such as:

  • What shapes your identity?

  • What is racism?

  • Where does it come from?

  • Why does it exist?

  • What can you do to disrupt it?

Young activists, alongside their parents and carers, will explore social identities, the history of racism and resistance, and how they can use their voices and an anti-racist lens to move the world towards equity and liberation.

We love that this workshop is designed for the whole family. Real change begins in our homes and schools, in our conversations around the dinner table, and in the way we empower our children to see injustice - and respond to it with compassion and courage.

We Encourage You to Join Us

We would wholeheartedly encourage every Dot Kids family - and our wider community - to sign up and take part in this important event.

Learning together matters. Growing together matters.

And building a more equitable world for our children matters most of all.

The workshop runs on 5th August from 4pm to 5pm BST
