There are moments in business that take your breath away. This was one of them. I’m still pinching myself after being personally invited by Holly Tucker MBE - the UK Ambassador for Small Business and founder of Not On The High Street and Holly & Co - to attend an intimate Women in Business Supper alongside seven other inspiring female founders.
This wasn’t just a dinner. It was a celebration of female entrepreneurship, a space to connect, share stories, and champion the power and the struggles of small businesses led by women.
A Supper That Sparked Something Special
The evening was warm, authentic and filled with the kind of conversation that energises you from the inside out. We spoke openly about resilience, creativity, leadership, vulnerability and what it really means to build something from scratch.
Being surrounded by such driven, courageous and kind-hearted women, each carving out their own unique path, was both humbling and invigorating. From product-based start-ups to service-led ventures, every founder around that table had a powerful story to tell. And I felt incredibly proud that Dot Kids, with its mission to nurture creativity and confidence through art, was recognised as part of that story.
Holly Tucker: Champion of Small Business
Holly Tucker is a true force of nature. She has built not one, but two powerhouse brands, and she now additionally devotes her time to supporting UK small businesses with the same passion, grit, and joy that built her empire.
Her belief in the power of purpose-driven business, and especially in the economic and social impact of women-led enterprises, shines through everything she does. Her warmth, honesty and genuine interest in each of our journeys made the evening even more meaningful.
It wasn’t about ego or accolades. It was about community, collaboration and courage; values that sit right at the heart of both Dot Kids and Holly & Co.
Why Celebrating Women in Business Matters
As a female founder, I know the rollercoaster of running a business. The long hours, the self-doubt, the juggling act, but also know the joy, freedom and fulfilment that come from creating something with heart.
When women come together to support one another, incredible things happen. Events like this supper aren’t just symbolic. They create space for connection, idea-sharing, and the quiet magic of feeling seen and celebrated.
More than ever, we need to champion women-led businesses, to tell their stories, amplify their voices and back their bold visions. Because when women succeed, communities thrive.
What This Means for Dot Kids
Being recognised and invited to this supper by Holly Tucker MBE has added fuel to the fire. It has reminded me why I do what I do, and why I’m so passionate about creating spaces where children can express themselves freely, build confidence through creativity, and feel proud of who they are.
At Dot Kids, we believe that everything starts from a dot. This supper was one of those dots for me; a moment of connection and encouragement that will ripple out in the weeks and months to come.
I’m so grateful to Holly for her continued support of small business founders, and to the incredible women I shared the evening with. Your stories inspired me deeply.
We all need more connection, celebration, and courage in business.
If you’re a female founder, dreamer or doer reading this, keep going. Your work matters, and your voice deserves to be heard.
